Wontanara! We are Together!

Thank you for coming to check out our blog!
Some of you might be wondering what was up with the somewhat mysterious invitations we sent out. Hopefully all your questions can be answered here. (if not, send us an email at manimou@gmail.com or jessicatowns@yahoo.com )

Here is the Skinny.
Who/What: Manimou Camara and Jessica Towns are formally celebrating there love by getting married.
When: 26th of May 2007 at 1 pm
Where: At the Towns Residence, 27230 SE 156th Street Issaquah Washington 98027

Things to do with us that weekend!
Thursday night: African dance class in Seattle with One World Dance! It is at Planet Earth Yoga studio in Fremont and starts at 7:30pm.
Friday night: Come down to Olympia and watch our amazing friends perform with Femme de Fabrique!
Saturday: Come to the LOVE Celebration!
Sunday: Lets go to Folk Life in Seattle!

Manimou and I would also like to invite everyone to celebrate the union of our friends
Dayna and Hondo Tribe. They were married in Brevard North Carolina on April 7th, 2007. We thought our party would be the perfect opportunity for everyone here in the Northwest to give those two some love! Also, Dayna and Hondo are bringing a new person into the world in October so if you have any little baby somethings for them, that would be wonderful!

When is this thing going down?

I know that it is a holiday weekend, but isn't this exactly what you wanted to do?
So mark the date, May 26th, 2007 at 1pm

There is gonna be alot to do;
Watch two people make a lifelong commitment to eachother, eat yummy down home cooking, LOTS of dessert, and live entertainment that might just involve you!
In Guinea it is tradition that at any momentous occasion in your life you throw a Doundounba, a traditional celebration that involves drumming and dancing!
Bring your dancing shoes!

What to Wear? What to Bring?

Don't worry this is a wear-what-you-want-be-comfortable kind of celebration.
Feel free to wear exactly what pleases you; be it your pajamas or a tux or maybe come dressed as your favorite superhero. It's all good.
Bring your smiling self and be prepared for some soul food lovin' and trying some dance moves!
Maybe a light coat because we will probably rock into the evening.

VERY IMPORTANT, if you have the desire, please do bring a Dessert or even two or three. Then our sugar table will have so much more to offer beyond the traditional wedding cake. (Which invariably is one of the strangest things a person can consume....)

If you play djembe, or any other percussive instrument, please feel free to bring it and join in our Doundounba! A couple of dollar bills could be fun too, just bring a few and you will see!
